Your Weekly Internet Spoils: Comfort Edition
It is a truth of life, my darlings, that we must lose people that we love while living it, and they leave us in all sorts of ways: Beloved and celebrated, quietly and sadly, quickly and violently, or any other way at all. It is up to the living to try and make sense of what is left without them. A big part of that always seems to be the most basic thing that we can do to remind ourselves that we are still alive: We eat. We surround ourselves with food in conjunction with all of that family and all of those friends. We bring it to the bereaved.
And so this week, I thought I might bring a lot of comfort food to all of us, dear readers, and soothe the common thread of loss that we all share in life.
Come and eat.
To consume and imbibe
French fries are one of those foods that is so very disappointing when they are terrible, because they are so downright transcendent when you get a good batch of them. To me potatoes are everything that is comfort; they are starchy love on a plate. So let us embrace them, in several different forms: Cheesy Cajun Fries with Grilled Corn Guacamole, Bacon and Fried Eggs; Vegetarian Poutine; Sweet Potato Fries with Gouda Sauce; and then perhaps the whole shebang with these French Fry Bourbon Burgers.
Are sandwiches more of your thing? No worries. Try this Bourbon Caramelized Bacon and Heirloom Tomato BLT w/Fried Eggs + Smoked Gouda or a simpler Guacamole Grilled Cheese.
If sweeter foods are your siren comfort call, then I haven’t forgotten you: Partake in some Giant Sugar Cookies with Pink Cherry Buttercream, or a Banoffee Pie, and wash it all down with a Mochaccino Milkshake (see above photo). Don’t be afraid to spike-as-needed any and all of these things, really, my dears.

The weirdest thing I found this week: I suppose this is what one would be looking for with an exercise program.
And last, but never least, your weekly tip on How to be a Better Human: Read this, and understand a little better something that might not be your perspective in life. It is very well written and very important.
A final word, or series of them.
Do be good to one another and yourselves, my darlings. Our time on this particular chunk of space rock is rather limited, after all.
