Your Weekly Internet Spoils: Salad Edition
My darlings we missed each other last week and for that I am so very sorry. Just imagine I was carried away by many patriotic screams of eagles to a red, white, and blue land of cocktails and berry crumbles. (Really it was me, Executive Editor Russell, who forgot to schedule the post – consider this my apology to you, Sarah, and all the rest of the people of the internet.)
I’ll be sure to make it up to you this week, I promise.
To consume and imbibe
Whether or not you took part in America’s collective hangover-inducing holiday last weekend, I’m feeling all things very light and summery at the moment, so do indulge me. (And feel free to have me over for dinner and serve all of these things, please.)
To sip I thought we’d start off with The Molly June. I’m not normally a gin girl except for the occasional French 75 (though I prefer the original recipe made with cognac honestly) it’s good for us to broaden our horizons occasionally, is it not? If you hate gin so much you’re thinking of burning something down, I offer you an alternative in a Mango Basil Spritzer. Please don’t go to jail because of gin. Unless you’re an old timey bootlegger, I guess.
Oh, and if you’re French or just a rabid Francophile readying yourself to celebrate Bastille Day on Monday, may I present 15 ways to serve up bubbly?
I suppose we should also eat something, so let’s have a salad bar that is so much more than sad and wilting iceberg lettuce and a terrifying large container of ranch dressing: Kale Salad with Peaches, Corn, and Basil-Honey Vinaigrette; Salmon, Asparagus, and Orzo Salad with Lemon-Dill Vinaigrette; and for a little protein, the Greek Quinoa and Avocado Salad.
For dessert I suggest an Easy Stone Fruit Tart?

Be good to you, and to those around you, even in your saddest moments of defeat and anger. Until next time, my dears.
